My story
I am Marcel Jaasma, founder and owner of Lucky Shot Feeders, I would like to tell you why I developed Lucky Shot Feeders.
As a photographer, I have made wonderful trips to South and Central America in recent years and had my first experience of photographing hummingbirds.
During my second trip, in Colombia, I noticed that quite a lot of freedom of movement for the photographer was taken away by the position of the feeder bottle on the existing feeders.
With my years of experience in design and product development, ideas arose that initiated the development and design of professional hummingbird feeders.
The aim was to create the best possible freedom for the photographer to photograph hummingbirds without obstacles and from different perspectives. In addition, the aim was to be able to set up a personal photographic setup to maximize the success rate for a beautiful hummingbird photo.
All this led to a hybrid hummingbird feeder. The “Lucky Shot ECCENTRIC Feeder” and the multifunctional “Lucky Shot CAROUSEL”.
Both feeders have their own specific capabilities. Designed and developed for the hummingbird photographer who goes for that ‘perfect’ shot: The Lucky Shot!
The Lucky Shot Eccentric
De Lucky Shot ECCENTRIC is the world’s first professional hybrid hummingbird feeder for the photographer.
The feeding bottle with drinking ports is positioned off-center relative to the feeding bowl. The feeder is clamped onto a tripod using the integrated Acra Swiss plate.
Using this portable hybrid feeder, the background, light and angle of the photographic shot can therefore be individually determined.
An optimal setup for photographing the most beautiful free-standing hummingbird possible. Entirely according to the photographer’s own wishes, creativity and insight.

The Lucky Shot Carousel
De Lucky Shot CAROUSEL is a feeder in which up to six feeding cartridges can be placed. The feed cartridges feature flowers that are pointed downwards, unlike traditional feeders.
The position and number of feeding cartridges can be adjusted according to the photographer’s wishes. Each position and arrangement offers different photographic possibilities.
This professional feeder feeder can either be hung or attached to a tripod with the supplied Acra Swiss plate.
On a tripod, the background, lighting and angle of photographic shot can be flexibly determined.

The Lucky Shot Cartridge with Branch Holder
This innovative product consists of two parts: the unique cartridge containing the interchangeable branch holder.
The BRANCH HOLDER is inspired by the natural behavior of the hummingbird.
